Éthiopie – Yirgacheffe 340 g

Yirgacheffe is where coffee begins — the birthplace of Arabica, and still the name that sets the standard for everything floral and bright. This lot is fully washed and grown high, between 1,600 and 2,000 metres, from the heirloom varietals that have flourished in these hills for generations. The result drinks more like fine tea than what most people picture as coffee: delicate, aromatic, impossibly clean. Jasmine and green tea lead on the nose. Bergamot and bright lemonade run through the middle. A soft blueberry note lingers on the finish. Light-bodied and elegant, it's an 86-point cup and the most fragrant bean on our shelf.
