Yemen - Hayma, Kharijiya

Some coffees are grown. This one is inherited. Yemen — Hayma Kharijiya comes from a mountain village in Yemen's Sana'a highlands where coffee has been cultivated for over 600 years. At 1,800 to 2,000 metres, in some of the driest coffee-growing country on earth, cherries ripen slowly, unhurried, the way they always have. Handpicked. Sun-dried whole. No shortcuts. No water. Just time and mountain air. What makes this coffee truly rare is written in its DNA. Yemenia — a mother population of Arabica found nowhere else on the planet, only identified by science in 2020, yet grown and traded since the 1400s. Ancient genetics that produce a cup unlike anything else in the world of specialty coffee. Floral, cardamom, baked spices, and a deep mocha finish that lingers long after the last sip. This is the bean that once sailed from the port of Mocha — the harbour that gave the world its word for coffee. That history is still in every cup. Our rarest offering. Reach for a slow pour-over and let it fully unfold. This is Yemen, true to the note.
